Robot Hugs is a webcomic updated weeklyish or thereabouts. It is about a lot of things, but you can expect to see a lot of cats, a bunch of identity, gender, and sexuality discussions, and explorations of depression and mental illness, especially in the winter. Robot Hugs may include occasional cartoon depictions of nudity and discussion of sexuality – NSFW comics are generally labelled as such.

The creator:
RH lives in Toronto and works in UX/IA. They have a degree in Linguistics and a graduate degree in Information Studies. They identify as genderqueer non-binary and use gender-neutral pronouns such as ‘they’ or ‘zie/zir’. Specifically, they identify as a non-binary genderqueer peoplequeer mentally ill non-monogamous kinky critical feminist robot. Their hobbies include worrying, being concerned about things they can’t change, being angry, being uselessly angry, hiding from the world, and knitting.
Amazing Helpers and Patient People:
MZ manages correspondences and coordinates site administration, and is a wonderful social media manager (because apparently I’m from 1782 and am all like ‘how do I twit back this tumble message???). Much of this involves cajoling me into doing things I’ve been putting off, and physically making me sit down and deal with stuff that just isn’t as fun as simply writing and posting comics. In short, MZ manages all the boring stuff, and the whole system would probably collapse without them, and that would be very sad indeed.
Dan Henderson, killer, Min, and MZ have all acted as critical readers of comic texts on longform comics, and help me make sure I’m actually articulating what I want to articulate. Often this involves them getting an email saying ‘hey is this dumb idk’ and then a wall of text, which they patiently read and give me notes on. They are also the reason there are not quite as many typos as there might be otherwise. These people also bear the brunt of my low-level but constant anxiety around the site and comics, and it should be noted that they bear it gracefully and patiently.

I’m afraid I no longer have the bandwidth to post translations of my comics, and I have heard feedback that some of the translations I have received are rather poor. If you would like to edit a Robot Hugs comic into your own language, please go ahead and do so and credit back to the original comic. Thank you!

You can reproduce occasional comics in pretty much any not-for-profit medium so long as you are not selling it, including it in advertising, or using it for merchandise or for-profit purposes, and you make sure to attribute back to my site.
